About Seminar Snapshots
A Seminar Snapshot captures the key learning points of a seminar presentation at The Poynter Institute or at another training event. A snapshot features edited video highlights and other materials offered during a seminar presentation.
It is tough to ask people to share their story and put a face on today’s biggest issues, such as long-term unemployment, losing a home or sending loved ones to war. Working on these stories as a solo video journalist can make it seem even tougher.
Learn how to approach people in uncomfortable situations, find focus and tone for your story, and stay safe in this seminar snapshot. This replay is from The Poynter Institute and the National Press Photographers Foundation's day-long event, Video Storytelling Workshop: 2010 Edition.
What Will I Learn:
- A basic game plan for covering sensitive stories
- The advantages of working solo
- How to capture and edit with focus
- How to stay safe
Who should take this course:
